What is Microsoft 365 Product Microsoft Viva and How to Install It

Microsoft Viva, announced by Microsoft with the slogan “Employee Experience Platform (EXP)” makes it easier for the employees of the companies to work more efficiently, especially when they work remotely, to manage their processes, and to follow the development of the companies’ personnel and guide them on this path. In this context, it combines many applications under its own roof. In fact, it provides an opportunity for Viva to easily manage a company’s human resources operations.

Apart from Microsoft 365 products, Microsoft Viva will also integrate with third party software products such as Zoom, Salesforce, SAP and SuccessFactors, and will enable you to view and manage your employee experience in other products under a single roof.

Microsoft Viva consists of various applications such as Viva Topics, Viva Insights, Viva Learning, Viva Connections, Viva Sales, Viva Goals, and Viva Engage. We will be examining each of these products in more detail later. Users with admin authority can install and manage licenses for Viva applications from the Microsoft 365 Management Center.

Within the scope of your Microsoft 365 license, you can only partially use the full Viva Connections features, Viva Engage, Viva Learning and Viva Insights features. If you want to use the entire Viva product, you must have a “Microsoft Viva Suite” license. To do this, first we log in to the “Microsoft 365 admin center” address https://admin.microsoft.com/ with an administrator account.

For installation, you can type viva in the general search section on the admin center and click on the “Setup > Microsoft Viva” link under the Microsoft Viva main heading.

Or you can go to the “Setup” section on the left menu and click on the “Microsoft Viva” option there.

As you can see, we came directly to the setup screen, and on this screen you can make all the checks below, such as authorization, license checks, viva products.

• Licenses and roles: You can select Manage licenses or Manage roles to go directly to the Microsoft 365 Licenses page or the Microsoft 365 Role assignments page. On the role assignments page, you can search for Viva in the search box to limit roles to those specific to Viva.
• Plan types: You can see the type of Viva plan purchased or included with Microsoft 365 in the Plan type column.
• Assigned admins: In the Administrators column, you can quickly see whether admin roles are assigned for each application and to whom the roles are assigned. Hover over profile circles to get names of people assigned roles.
• App pages: You can select an app to go to its settings page.
• Briefing email: You can select Manage briefing email in Viva to choose whether people in your organization receive briefing emails.

As you can see above, you can activate viva within the scope of your license and use it to integrate the features of many products with your SharePoint online site and even with all your Microsoft 365 products.
